Out of the Grey Coffee

When I found Out of the Grey Coffee, I had been looking for a Christian Fair Trade coffee to support. I had wanted to find a way to support coffee growing communities overseas, especially after my work on an organic farm (and leadership school) in Japan.

The story of their family resonated with me as well, as initially it was a struggle to begin my stint as a missionary.

Java Jack, Sheila Marie, and their children had to cancel their plans to do missionary work overseas because of a family accident and take care of Jack’s mother. Out of the Grey Coffee was then born in Pennsylvania.

Island Sunrise™ - Coffee Blend

Now they support many farming communities across the world with their small batch coffee roaster and tea company. (Such a great way to combine a love for missions together with coffee).

It is an honor to support a company with their values.

You can read more of the company’s beliefs and faith on the back of the package or by visiting their website here.

Their coffee is without harsh chemicals, organic, with many Fair Trade options. You have the option to choose the grind and regular or decaf for each flavor. The decaffeination process is called Swiss Water Process (a non-chemical process, using water to extract the caffeine).

The first coffee and tea I tried were the Raspberry Ruffle Truffle – Flavored Coffee and the Orange Cranberry Fusion – Luxury Tea.

First of all, the coffee and tea arrived extremely fast – so it was very fresh. It was also evident these coffee and teas are of excellent quality, and the coffee meticulously roasted.

Raspberry Ruffle Truffle – Flavored Coffee

Many years ago, my sister and I would buy raspberry coffee, and it was the highlight of our weekends together. When the stores near us stopped carrying the flavor, it became almost impossible to find and is still a rarity today. The good news is that Out of the Grey Coffee has the best raspberry coffee I have ever had. It has a rich raspberry smell and taste, without overpowering the deep flavor of the coffee. I tried this coffee both with cream and honey and without, and both truly reminded me of a sweet raspberry truffle.

The white chocolate and raspberry blends together so nicely. Unlike with other flavored coffees, this did not have a strong aftertaste that stayed with me throughout the day; it went down smooth and I didn’t feel jittery after going back for more.

Another great thing about this coffee is the low acidity level, for those with digestive issues or heartburn with coffee.

I look forward to trying the coffee decaffeinated as well, especially since there are no chemicals added in the decaffeination process.

Orange Cranberry Fusion – Luxury Tea

Rooibos is my favorite type of caffeine-free tea. This tea blends the rooibos with orange extract and peels, hibiscus, and cranberries, giving it a lovely mixture of fruity sweetness and slight tartness.

As we just entered the Autumn season, this tea paired perfectly with the scent of crisp falling leaves outside.

The orange and tart cranberry’s citrus flavor is perfect for serving to guests during winter holidays. However, you can also enjoy it as a refreshing sun tea in spring and summer. So it is quite versatile.

Rooibos is very nutritious, containing not only polyphenols and antioxidants but magnesium and calcium too (along with vitamin C in the orange and cranberry). Rooibos is also great for kidney health as it does not contain oxalic acid, which causes kidney stones, unlike caffeinated teas. You can read about the Wupperthal Co-operative in South Africa where this rooibos is grown in the description here.

There are so many flavors, whatever your preference, they will have something for every coffee and tea lover.

One more thing that I appreciate about Out of the Grey Coffee is that there are many ways to pay, including Amazon Pay and Paypal.

For all these reasons, I highly recommend Out of the Grey Coffee and Teas; I will be trying as many flavors from Out of the Grey Coffee as I can! If you would like to do the same, please enjoy 15% off of your order with the coupon: KHCOFFEE15

Blessings and cheers!
